Tarazel ("Tarazel," "we," "us") builds Beacon, a companion app for self-hosted home security cameras. We designed Beacon so that your video and camera data stay on infrastructure you control. This policy explains what limited information we do handle when you use the Tarazel website and Beacon services.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you sign in to Beacon, we handle the identifier provided by your sign-in provider (for example, an Apple account identifier) and, if you choose to share it, an email address for account and support communication.
- Subscription information. If you purchase a paid subscription, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store your full card number. We receive limited billing status information needed to activate and manage your subscription.
- Device tokens for notifications. To deliver push notifications, we handle the anonymous push token issued to your device by Apple or Google. This token lets us wake your device; it is not tied to your identity by the notification service.
- Basic website analytics. Our hosting provider may log standard, aggregate request information (such as IP address and page requested) to operate and secure the site.
What we intentionally do not collect
Your camera video, snapshots, event images, and camera names are not sent to or stored on Tarazel's servers. Our notification relay is built to carry only a minimal, opaque wake-up signal; the content of a notification is fetched by your device directly from the server you control.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Beacon service.
- To deliver notifications you have asked to receive.
- To process and manage subscriptions.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate — for example, our payment processor (Stripe), cloud hosting, and the platform push services (Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging) — and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
Data retention
We keep account and subscription information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with our legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account information by contacting us.
Your choices
- You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by emailing us.
- You can cancel a subscription at any time; see our Terms of Service.
Children
Beacon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
